Privacy policy
Who we are
Qalorie, Inc. operates Qalorie and this website. This policy describes information processed through our app, website and support services. Contact info@qalorie.com for privacy questions or requests. Effective November 4, 2026.
Information you choose to provide
Depending on the features you use, we process your email and account identifiers, profile and goals, food and nutrition entries, water, workouts, weight, measurements, progress photos, and messages, audio or images you choose to submit. Health context or lab images are processed only when you choose features that accept them. Please submit only information you have authority to share.
Why we use information
We use information to authenticate accounts, provide requested diary and AI features, calculate estimates, synchronize supported records, respond to support requests, maintain subscription entitlements, prevent abuse and operate the service. Local-only records and cloud records have different lifecycles; not every feature supports backup or transfer to another device.
AI, voice and images
When you deliberately use AI, relevant messages, selected images, audio and request context are processed through our backend and OpenAI. Voice may stream audio during an active session. Review suggestions before adding records. AI can be inaccurate. Provider retention depends on the endpoint, configuration and applicable obligations; we do not promise zero retention. Health-device preview records are not sent to AI. You can use manual logging without sending a request to AI.
Apple Health and Android Health Connect
With your permission, supported releases can read selected steps, weight and workouts for an on-device preview. You select the data types and can revoke access in device health settings. These previews do not write into Apple Health or Health Connect and are not uploaded to account backup, AI or analytics. Android connectivity is being tested and availability depends on release and device. We do not sell health data or use health-device records for advertising, credit or insurance decisions.
Permissions and local storage
Camera or photo selection supports the media you choose to use; microphone access supports deliberate voice sessions. Optional reminders use notification permission on supported devices. Manage permissions in your operating-system settings. Local app storage holds preferences and records; authentication tokens use protected device storage. Removing the app can remove local-only information.
Optional app analytics
When available and enabled by your opt-in, PostHog receives limited product events, timestamps, a pseudonymous installation identifier and context such as language, platform and environment. The implementation excludes food and health records, photos, AI conversations, email addresses and free-text error details; session replay is disabled. Opting out stops future optional event collection and clears queued events. You may request deletion of previously transmitted data through support. This public website has no optional analytics or advertising pixels enabled.
Providers and disclosures
AWS provides authentication and backend services; MongoDB Atlas stores supported cloud records; OpenAI processes selected AI requests; PostHog supports optional app analytics. Apple and Google handle store purchases and their own payment information. Stripe handles website payments when offered. We receive transaction and entitlement information needed to provide access, not full card details through the app. Website hosting and email providers process connection and support information. Data may be disclosed when required by law, to protect security and rights, or in a corporate transaction with appropriate protections. Third-party services also have their own policies.
Subscriptions and referrals
A subscription may link a store or payment-provider transaction to your Qalorie account. If you use a referral link in an enabled web program, the referral code and qualifying transaction may be associated with that account. Affiliates must not receive your food diary, health records or AI conversations. The public site does not currently accept web purchases or affiliate enrollment; private development flows are separate.
Retention, deletion and security
We keep information for the purposes described here and applicable legal, security, tax and dispute obligations. Retention varies across active records, logs, backups and providers. Deletion may not immediately remove backup copies or records that must be retained legally; such retained records are restricted to those purposes. No service can guarantee absolute security. Signing out or uninstalling is not an account-deletion request. Request account and associated-data deletion at /delete-account/; where supported, use the in-app account-deletion control. Identity verification may be required. Do not send passwords or detailed health records by email.
Your rights and international processing
Depending on your jurisdiction, you may request access, correction, deletion, a copy, restriction, objection, withdrawal of consent or an appeal, and complain to an appropriate regulator. Write to info@qalorie.com. We handle requests under applicable statutory requirements without unlawful discrimination. Processing may occur outside your country, including the United States. Where required, we rely on consent, performance of requested services, legal obligations or legitimate operational interests and applicable transfer safeguards.
Adults, organizations and changes
Qalorie is intended for adults 18 and older. Contact us if a child has supplied information. Employers and other organizations do not receive individual health information merely because they contact us or offer a program. Any additional sharing requires appropriate notices and permissions. We update this policy when practices change and provide additional notice or consent where required; updates do not retroactively authorize unrelated uses.
